II. Each of you will work with your counterparts on other teams to learn more about your area of expertise.  You will then return to your team to share what you've learned with your team.

III. Together you will then develop your building proposal.  With your team, you will now do the following:

1. Design a floor plan for your model home.

     •  The home must be one story.
     •  Use scale of one quarter inch represents one foot.
     •  The floor space must fit within a 40 foot by 40 foot square.

House Plan

2. Make a site plan.

    • Building regulation:  The front of the home must be set back at least 20 feet from the street.  The rest of the home may be no closer than 6 feet to the property line.

3. Build a 3D model of your home.

     • Guidelines for walls:  All outside walls of the house need to be the same height.  All houses are to be one story.  All houses must have a front door and back door for fire safety.  Walls should be made with a scale of 1/4 inch : 1 foot.

     •  Guidelines for roofs:  All roofs must be sloped, not flat.  The roof base must overhand the floor plan by at least one foot so that rain coming off the roof will drip down away from the walls.

4. Do a three-dimensional representation of your project using SketchUp.

5. Figure the material cost of your structure.

     • The cost of building materials for walls is $20 per square foot. (For cost estimates, consider windows and doors to be part of the wall area.)

     •  Floor materials cost: $30 per square foot.
     •  Ceiling materials cost: $10 per square foot.
     •  Roof materials cost: $16 per square foot.

6. Figure the cost of labor.

     •  Labor costs are an additional 60 cents for every dolloar of material costs.  This means that labor costs are 60% of material costs.

7. Build a slideshow to inform and persuade Oxford Hills Developers, inc. that your plan should be chosen.  *add . . . . specify slides that need to be included*

8. Present your project that includes all the above.
